Sugar-free diabetic desserts
For Type 2 diabetics, getting on a sugar-free diet is a wise decision but it doesn’t mean having to give up those tasty desserts you so love to indulge in.
There are sugar-free dessert recipes that can be found in several cookbooks, each filled with sugar-free diabetic desserts that will satisfy your sweet tooth and you won’t miss a lick, so to speak.
“Ranch Kitchen Bakery” by Feuer is one such cookbook that is filled with sugar-free dessert recipes using natural fruit-juice.
It will show you the basics of baking as well as provide many delicious sugar-free dessert recipes.
The first section of the book contains information about the Ranch Kitchen Bakery along with the author’s personal sugar story, the dangers of sugar and how fruit juice concentrate can be used as sweetener.
The second section of the book will teach you the techniques of basic baking, and the remainder of the book provides recipes.
Another great cookbook is the “I Can’t Believe This Has No Sugar Cookbook” by Deborah E. Buhr. She shows you how to make scrumptious cookies, muffins, cakes, pies, and other desserts without the use of sugar.
“Get the Sugar Out: 501 Simple Ways to Cut the Sugar Out of Any Diet” is yet another recipe book you might find interesting.
It doesn’t feature recipes, but it does explain some easy strategies to reduce or eliminate sugar from your daily diet.
Natural fruit-juice such as date juice, apple juice, pineapple juice, and grape juice can be used to sweeten certain recipes, however, many people might choose to use an artificial sweetener as it most resembles the taste of white sugar.
If that is your preference, there are plenty of brands choose from that use a common artificial sweetener such as aspartame or sucralose.
