What are compression stocking gloves?
Support sock and Compression Stocking Gloves, commonly referred to as “Donning-gloves,” are worn to help avoid damage to your skin or hosiery, e.g., punctures, snags or runs, any of which could be easily caused by your fingernails, or ring(s), when putting on (donning) and removing (doffing) support socks and compression stockings.
Socks and compression hose donning-gloves are typically made of either thin natural (100% cotton) or a synthetic such as nylon or a blend of the two.
Donning-gloves that are made of synthetic materials are considered to be more comfortable, durable, stretchable and reusable, however, if you are allergic to some synthetics such as latex then it is best to stick with all natural or a blend.
The palm and the underside of the fingers have a thin latex coating that is comes in various surface textures, e.g., beaded, ridged and wavy, to give you a non-slip grip on support socks or compression hosiery making them easier to handle.
Most donning-gloves are available in standard sizes: small/medium/large/XLarge.
