Testing sugar level using a blood glucose test meter

For any diabetic is it imperative that they consistently make sure that their sugar level is normal, i.e., a spike in their high glucose (sugar) level is something that every diabetic has to keep from occurring. Unfortunately it is an inevitable problem particularly for Type 2 diabetics.
One of the quickest and easiest methods of test the glucose level is to use a blood glucose meter.
This is an invaluable little hand-held instrument that measures your blood sugar level and one which any diabetic should keep within reach.
There are several companies that produce blood sugar meters, e.g. Arkray USA, Advocate, Bayer, Lifespan, Nova Biochemical, Relion, in various shapes and sizes.
All are hand-held and weight very little. Each comes with software that helps you review, analyze, and evaluate your historical blood glucose test results, insulin dosages, and carbohydrate intake data on your computer.
Recording and analyzing this information over time can help to support an effective diabetes management program.
Some blood glucose testing meters come with individual glucose test strips that are inserted into the meter or are equipped with a disc that rotates to the next strip after each use such the “BREEZE” made by Bayer as shown in the picture at the beginning of this article.
